Raising your vibration will change your life. This might seem like a big claim, but it holds a whole load of truth.
When you are vibrating at a higher frequency, things in your life become much easier. You have much more energy, you feel overriding positivity, and you allow yourself to step into your own power. And these are only a few of the many benefits raising your vibration offers.
“If you want to know the secrets of the world – think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
Nicolas Tesla
An Introduction to Vibration
If you are not yet aware of the concept of vibration or ‘vibes’, no worries, I can assure you that you have definitely felt them. We are all familiar with good vibes and bad vibes and how they make us feel. For instance, when we enter a room of loving, happy people who are dancing and having a good time, we feel the good vibes and instantly feel energised. Vibration is exactly this!
On a deeper level, the law of vibration is identified as one of the basic laws of the universe.
It decrees that everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. The higher the frequency of your energy or vibration, the lighter you begin to feel in your physical, mental and spiritual body. The lower the frequency of vibration, the more dense and heavy everything seems. But this does not just apply to our feelings, even objects that appear to be solid and fixed are actually made up of vibrational energy fields on the quantum level.
Including you!
As a human, you vibrate at your own vibrational frequency. Therefore, your wellbeing is also a series of vibrations. Throughout your day-to-day life, every action, interaction, reaction, and thought influences your own vibrational frequency. Essentially, every choice you make either raises your vibration or lowers it.

When our vibration is low, our energy is typically low. Feelings of fear, stress, and sometimes depression can wash over us. We may feel uninspired or unable to perform simple tasks. We can feel mentally, physically or spiritually blocked.
On the other hand, when our vibration is high, we feel positive and active. Energy is much more able to naturally flow through us, leaving us feeling harmonious with everything and everyone around us. Our confidence, outlook on life and overall well-being are greatly increased. Anything seems possible.
What does it mean to raise your vibration?
By raising your vibration, you are essentially creating a new reality for yourself. A reality in which you are aligned with the ebb and flow of the universe. We become much more magnetic for our wants and desires when our vibe is high as we have cleared the blockages within our mental, physical and spiritual fields. Therefore, in raising our vibration, we are much more likely to move from a place of resistance, and into a space of openness. A space where you are much more likely to get an interview, to meet the right people, to achieve your dreams.
“As you think, you vibrate. As you vibrate, you attract.”
Abraham Hicks
In order to know your own vibration, simply observe your thoughts. If you are feeling optimistic and happy, chances are your vibration is high. If you are feeling down and anxious, your vibration might be low. In which case, do something about it! You are in charge of your own destiny.
Let’s explore the ways in which you can raise your own vibration. In no particular order, my top tips are to:
- Practice Meditation
- Bring loving awareness to your thoughts
- Be Grateful
- Learn To Forgive
- Eat High Vibrational Foods
- Incorporate Essential Oils
- Choose Music Wisely
- Get Moving
- Become Aware Of The People You Surround Yourself With
- Marvel In Nature
Without further ado, let’s explore these simple ways to raise your own vibration:

Practice Meditation
One of the most common ways to raise your vibrational frequency is to meditate. By taking time to sit with yourself in stillness, quietly observe the breath and the thoughts, you are naturally raising your vibration. This happens as you begin to raise your consciousness to a state of neutrality, which allows you to rise above all lower vibrational emotions. Meditation allows your mind, body and spirit to enter into calmness. Additionally, the practice enables one to sort out any unresolved problems and thoughts by allowing the higher mind to shine insight on that which we may not have been aware of.

Bring loving awareness to your thoughts
The single most powerful thing to raise your vibration is to become very aware of vibrational changes as they happen. You can do this by checking in and becoming present in the moment and observing your emotions and how your body feels. When you are able to bring this type of awareness regularly to yourself, you become much more able to take control when you need to. If you’re feeling as though your vibe is low, ask yourself what you can do to change the situation. For instance, if you find yourself excessively using social media, become aware that it might not be aligning you with your best intention for that day. Allow yourself to take a break and come away for a while.
Be Grateful
One of the quickest ways to raise your vibration is to practice gratitude. When you live in a life of gratitude, everything changes. Gratitude within itself is the key to happiness. Once you begin to count your blessings and hold gratitude inside your heart, you simply cannot go wrong. Gratitude is pure love and appreciation, two of the highest frequencies. Take a moment to look around the room you are in and observe three things you are grateful for. Alternatively, bring your hands to your heart, close your eyes, and share a moment of gratitude for someone you love.
“Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life.” – Rumi

Learn To Forgive
Forgiveness towards yourself and others is a key factor in not only raising your vibration, but also living a peaceful life. Learning to let go of the anger that we hold towards others benefits us hugely because it is comparable to releasing an enormously heavy backpack. Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. We are the only ones affected. Science has shown forgiveness to reduce stress, anger, and depression, while increasing feelings of hope, optimism, compassion, physical vitality, self-efficacy and confidence.

Eat High Vibrational Foods
Everything you consume is prana, or life force energy. Therefore, each of the food items you eat holds its own vibrational frequency as well. It’s true when they say, “you are what you eat.” When you choose to eat fresh, high vibrational, live foods, then you naturally feel lighter and full of energy.
However, when you eat typically low vibrational foods, such as microwave meals, junk food and meat, then you can notice yourself feeling more lethargic and heavy. The best way to raise your vibration is to eat fresh, colourful, and nutrient-dense foods. Then, you will naturally be vibrating at a higher level. Also, drink PLENTY of water.
Incorporate Essential Oils
It may not be so obvious, but even your sense of smell has the power to raise or lower your vibration. If you are walking through the city and a garbage truck drives by, you are sure to pick up on the smell and have an emotional reaction to it. The limbic system within the brain is responsible for this process as it controls your memory and emotions.
Typically, the emotion may be one of disgust or you may be left feeling unpleasant. This will go onto influence your other thoughts. Therefore, an awesome tip is to use essential oils to combat this and take control of your sense of smell. Essential oils like ‘rose’ carry an extremely high vibration which you only have to smell for a moment for its effect to work.
Choose Music Wisely
Carrying on from sense perception, the music you listen to plays a huge role in your vibrational frequency. Music has the ability to completely change your mood, increase your energy level, lift you out of stagnant emotions and allow you to feel profound states of joy. As a matter of fact, sound healing itself has been used for millennia.
Across various different traditions and countries, sound therapy has been used to heal disease from the human body, mind and spirit. Popular methods include listening to sound baths, crystal healing bowls, binaural beats, or even various frequencies themselves.
Get Moving
A fantastic way to raise your vibration is to move! When we engage in bodily activity, we invite all of the stagnant energy to shift and clear, helping us to release any frustration or upset. There is an abundance of physical activity that is beneficial to your overall well-being.
Running and high-intensity exercise is well-known for making one feel very positive and high afterwards. Another great way to move is to practice yoga! Yoga is renowned for bringing the mind and the body into balance through deep breathing and mindful movement.
Become Aware Of The People You Surround Yourself With
Have you ever heard the saying ““You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” by Jim Rohn? It has caused much debate but does ring true in many ways. This is due to the fact that the people we surround ourselves with go onto influence our thoughts, attitudes and behaviours. The people that you spend your time with have a phenomenal amount of influence over your time and your energy – therefore it is wise to take time to evaluate what certain people in your life are bringing you. Spend time with people who lift you up rather than drag you down.

Marvel In Nature
One of the most joyous gifts we have in life is the planet earth herself. So, by taking some time to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the natural world around us, we can hugely change our vibration. If you look all around you, nature is alive and buzzing. It is just waiting to be explored.
Therefore, ideal nature spots to raise your vibration and leave you feeling refreshed is to head over to the ocean, explore a nearby forest, or simply just sit in the grass or gaze at a flower. Importantly, nature has a beautiful way of allowing us to reconnect to the higher aspects of ourselves and leave us marvelled.
What lowers your vibration?
There are many things that actively lower your vibration, therefore, it is key to be on the lookout for these and become aware of how they affect you. These include:
- Drinking alcohol, smoking or taking drugs
- Making decisions out of fear
- Negative talk or swearing
- Mistreating yourself or others
- Addictive behaviors
- Violent movies, television shows or music
- Eating processed foods
- Microwave radiation
- Breathing in or having contact with household chemicals

The Law Of Karma
Otherwise known as the law of cause and effect. Karma is another lense in which we can look at vibration. The law of karma explains that whatever thoughts and actions we put out into the universe, it will be returned to you. Furthermore, positive vibrations attract positive things into your life. Everything is an energy exchange
Moreover, raising your vibration is raising your awareness towards your own actions and the realm of thought. Remember to actively accept and release things which are no longer serving you. In doing so, you are creating more space for abundance to flow to you simply and easily. Please remember to always show yourself love and kindness.
